I have no luck with shipped eggs!

As a shipper of eggs. There is alot you can do to help. Mark the boxs" do not x-ray open to inspect." FRAGILE. PROTECT FROM FREEZING. Proper packing. May not always help with some carriers.

I alway check with the buyer to see when and how they received the eggs.

Deerman, can I respectfully disagree? Granted, it may help in a lot of cases. But out of the 30-odd shipments of eggs I received this summer, the ones that actually stated on them "Hatching eggs" or "Do not x-ray" all over them were the ones that were treated the worst. Of course, this is just my experience, but the best hatches came from packages that just said "Fragile" on them. Even the box that was insured as a glass vase for $100 had crushed eggs.

In all the shipments I've made of eggs, I've only had one cracked that I know of. Considering the molt that hen was in, it was probably a thinner than normal shell, though I couldn't tell that when I packed it. I never, never put anything about hatching eggs or xray, only EXTREMELY FRAGILE; Do not shake, crush or drop! and Thank You for Handling with Care!
The packing method, and there are several used successfully, and the treatment by the P.O. are the two main issues. I agree that eggs should be fresh, but sometimes it's not possible to have them a couple days old. Still, the shell quality needs to be good and the breeder birds healthy. Tough shelled eggs make the trip better than thin-shelled ones.

I have also found the geese eggs like turkeys,and peafowl are harder to hatch and dont do as well with the shipping.

Oh I dont mark the box with hatching eggs. The word EGGs must mean to some carriers. LETS SEE IF WE CAN BREAK.

Every hatch is different and all you can do is go with what works in the environment you have and if it is not working find a different environment. Mine works and I am not moving it LOL!

Most good hatching sites I've seen say they don't ship goose eggs, cause they (goose eggs) don't ship well.
All 5 of the duck eggs started to develop, and I'm fairly certain 2 of the goose eggs did. I am pretty sure there were blood rings in 2 of the goose eggs early on.
I only saw one blood ring in the 2 duck eggs, but when I candled last night (day 14), I could see the quit embryos in both the duck eggs. I still have one goose egg that looks different than the others, but I don't think it's doing anything.

Oh for sure!! So much less headache!

Then you could hatch all of them, and hubby wouldn't care!

I think you got that right! LOL! I swear I see hockey-stick marks on some of the boxes.
