Thank you for all of the complements I am glad everyone likes my work. When I was younger I looked forward to going to a far away and tropical place, but now I am older and everything gets sore so easily. While travelling I would sometimes stay a month or more and never sleep in a bed or with a roof over my head, and most of the places I was had afternoon and evening storms daily. I would not change it for the world but now I want a warm bed and room service if I am travelling.
I do love the animals, I also like the fact that I don't have anything difficult or dangerous to keep, it is nice to be able to travel with no thought or worry about what is happening on the property or who is going to take care of the cats, and will they get hurt, and so on, and so on... I think everyone here knows what I mean, I stress out about my pheasants even though my sister takes care of them and has kept chickens and ducks for longer then me, but these are my birds so I am the one who worries if I'm not there.
I got into the models by accident, I used to collect animal figures from the time I was a child and I used to make little model zoos. Now I want to create a 3 dimensional image of what I have seen while travelling, the species of plants and animals, the feel of being in a jungle or out on the savanna looking at the landscape and imagining what is happening with the daily struggle of life. Here is another photo, this is a pack of African wild dogs hunting a Nile lechwe. I did not sculpt these, they were done by a very good friend named Ana, she and I have collaberated on several scenes and figures for these dioramas.
