I Have Shingles! ** UPDATE** Now My Daughter Has Chicken Pox! (Pg 10)

It depends on what you mean by both sides. She said she had them front and back, not right and left. In terms of nerves and the human body, sides are usually right and left; not front and back. People are bilaterally symetrical, and nerve pairs are left and right.

Bless your heart! I had them several years ago. They came on fast and furious one night and by morning I was in agony and went to Dr.Mine started on my left side under my arm over my shoulder up my neck and on my left side of my face. I hurt so bad and had that lingering pain for months afterwards. I pray you get releif soon with no after affects.

cool new pic dangerous!

Oh DC! Sorry to hear this news. This sure has been a time of ups and downs for you and yours. We're praying for your return to health and blessings for handling your daughter's diagnosis.

It is just old and aged me.

Hey! My shingles are almost gone! The only remaining is a little itchiness and the nerve pain (but lighter). I can't imagine having this chronically. My sympathies to anyone who has shingles full time

Guess what? My 4 year old with Autism now has CHICKEN POX! I kid you not! Of course, it is all my fault. She just keeps saying, "Skeeto bites" and itching them. I guess kids need a booster for the vaccine at 4 years old, but I didn't know that until it was too late

Everybody pray it is mild for my little one, okay?

Prayers for your wee one, and you too. May you both recover fully and quickly.

It's hard to believe that some parent's are having "Chicken Pox Parties" to deliberately expose their kids to the virus. Abusive in my mind.

Hey DC - been thinking about you lately. The UW in Seattle is running an experimental program on treating... you guessed it... shingles. You might want to see if U of O or anothe runiversity down in your area might have a similar program.

Sorry to hear about the pox. I was about that age when I got them... right before my family headed to Sacramento for a vacation mid-summer. 100 degrees + chicken pox = very itchy & cranky child!
