Hi Folks.
I have not read all the postings in this thread, but I wanted to say a couple of things, in case they have gone unsaid thus far.
Firstly, if you get shingles (aka. herpes varicella-zooster), or even suspect you are coming down with it...see you doc that day! It is imperative to get on oral anti-virals within the first 2-3 days! Your doc will Rx acyclovir, valcyclovir, or famvir. This can make all the difference in the world when it comes to post-herpetic neuralgia, the painful aftermath, which can somethings become debilitating and chronic. Also...if your out-break is on the face, make sure you see your eye doc. If you get the viral keratitis sequelae, and it goes untreated, it can blind you in that eye.
