I have to talk POLISH!

400

Lmao kids

This is my red boy he is 4mos old

And these are my girls

they are 4mos old also.
Wow! This pic especially looks so similar to mine. At what age did your boys start to feather out with their "boy " feathers? My bird's tail is short like your girl and the crest is so very similar, even the body shape is dead on. Mine seems to be top in the pecking order in my older flock of 11. (six Polish, 2 Brown Leghorns, and 3 EE's) I think it's a tie so far between "him" and one of the EE's. I couldn't find any close ups of his face so I'll get Hubs to hold him/her today and I'll get pics.

I'm not excatly sure but i do have some photos of him growing he was my fav chick so cute thought for sure he was a hen
sad.png

one day old.

3 weeks old

He's beautiful! I would have thought he was a she right up until the end, too!
thanks he was an awesome chick and so far is a friendly bird; but i have about 6 polish roos right now and am having a hard time deciding who and how many to keep.

I think I'm getting to know the polish breeds much better after doing some research, but I'd like to run my guesses across you Polish experts if you don't mind
bow.gif

They are all from IDEAL, they're a week and a half old and get cuter every day their little fluff ball on top gets bigger!

Red crested red Polish?

Golden Laced Polish?

Silver Laced or maybe Mottled Houdan?

Black Crested Black Polish?

Buff Laced Polish?

No idea on this one! He's as white as my sultans but no feathered legs

My guesses are based on pictures, not experience, so please correct me if I'm wrong!

Red crested red Polish? I think you got this one correct. Looks like my red did at that age.

Golden Laced Polish? Yep!

Silver Laced or maybe Mottled Houdan? Silver Laced Polish to my untrained eye.

Black Crested Black Polish? I think this might be Silver Laced as well.

Buff Laced Polish? This one looks to have too much barring to be a buff laced, mine was nearly white for a ling time. I think this is another Red Polish.

No idea on this one! He's as white as my sultans but no feathered legs. I think this one is a White Crested Blue Polsih. Lucky YOU!!! These are my favs!

My guesses are only based on my recent experience. Not many years but rather only weeks. Bet someone else can give you more expert opinion. good Luck with them, they are so very cute at that age.

That last one could also be a Splash since it has so much white. It looks kind of yellow with gray on it's back in the pics which would make me believe more blue in the end.

I have some of the same varieties that I got at my local feed store, but I think they get them from Idea. I was told the last is a black crested white. Mine sure are funny looking now. One even looks like it has a cowlick on its head. I will post pictures tomorrow.

I have been reading and it seems that the Polish Roos have a tendency to be aggressive. Is that true? Does anyone have pictures of black crested whites as they mature?
