I tried to get hatching eggs but Tricia's Polish stopped laying, so I have to wait

Good news is my bantam buff laced pullet started laying and I plan on putting one of my roosters in with her soon so I can hatch some of her eggs

Cute pictures everyone. So excited for the winter festival fair, entering our top pullet for this one as our older hen is actually on a batch of eggs in literally the middle of winter

It's not I don;t want her having some more cuties running around but really, in these temps.

Lols, I don;t know if anyone was here when I talked about my little rescue freebie but here she is after a bath awhile ago.

I don't think Polish girls are timely with anything. And, for example, Orps think laying is their duty in life. Polish girls think their duty is to just walk around and be eye candy.
Now the roos are different. I've seen mine active 12 weeks.

I have one polish girl that is about four months old. I am just wondering about the personalities of you guys Polish. She doesn't seem the least bit timid to me. She is right at the first or second running up for treats. She was always the one to escape. She really freaks out more than the others if I try to pick her up or if she gets seperated...She just seems kinda spazzy to me...is that just her or is it the breed?

I have 3 sisters, BL's, and they were spazzy until they started squatting (5months?) They've been my favs for 4 years. They are very sweet. They've been in hiding in the bushes from the bullies for a long time.. Now they have their own pen and are enjoying treats and not being chased. They're fine with being picked up. No flapping or screaming.

Then, I have 2 purebred mixes. One I can't get close to. She wil not come near anyone. Then there's her sister , LOLA. She wants to be a house chicken. She was never timid. She will jump up on you if she gets the chance. If you smile, she will peck your teeth! She is an in-your-face chicken. She's one of those that no one picks on and she doesn't pick on anyone either.

I am currently growing her a man, he's a month old. He's a spaz, but he wants to be out with me. All he had was me for the first 10 days, then I got him a few chicks to grow up with.

I think they get calmer as they get older. And trimming their bangs helps with the spazzing. Spazzing-by the time they see you, you are really really close.

I had two roos a few years ago. They were both wonderful, and I could pick either one up and they didn't mind. We loved them. Unfortunately, they both died at separate times and non related deaths.
