I hope these are Barred Rocks!

Probably younger than 6 months. Not pure barred Plymouth rock either. They don't have solid colored feathers. That being the case, you cannot sex based on barring color. Barred cross males can have the dark barring typical of a female. Black sex link males (gorgeous birds btw) are dark barred and often confused for female barred birds... until the comb comes in.
The one sold as a cockerel is looking like a male. Not sure on the other.

Agreed. The age stated is off, for sure. No way these chicks are 26 weeks old. More like 14-16 weeks.

Also agree that using the normal sexing techniques of the Barred Rock, full name of the variety is Barred Plymouth Rock, simply doesn't apply to birds of mixed breeding. When they are bred to the Standard, from true bred stock, the sexing rule apply and are extremely accurate and you can sex the chicks at 6 weeks or less.

Well, there's no longer any doubt, the suspected cockerel is a cockerel after all! He's grown like a fricken weed since July, his hackle feathers are coming in, patches of other feathers are coming in as well, comb & wattles have grown a lot & are redder...he also has HUGE FEET! I mean, like turkey feet! His feet & legs are already bigger than my fully grown Leghorn roo's feet & legs! He's also started chasing my barred pullet, who hasn't really grown a bit. Her comb is still tiny, and not very red at all. Also haven't seen any eggs from her yet either, unless she's laying under the deck.

So far, having 2 roosters is working out ok.

There is most definitely a pecking order, with the 2 barred rocks being at the bottom. But there's not been any real aggression, which is good. My Leghorn roo is a good boy, and I'm proud of him for not getting hateful with the new chickens.
