Some folks on this forum feed yogurt to their chickens - I'm one of them. You might try mashing up some layer pellets and mixing it in with the yogurt. If she eats it she would be getting the better food, but also the benefit of the friendly bacteria in the yogurt, which, after looking at your images, she definately needs! Make sure you get yogurt with ACTIVE culture. Should say on the container. Dannon is a brand, but lots of plain yogurt contains this.

The comb turning dark is a sign of slowed blood ciculation and is not always a bad thing, as silkiechicken wrote, heart rate is probably down, don't worry about that.

I would really be tempted to go back for the BO. Who knows what condition its in.

If you can mix the yogart with an egg. The yogart will help her system and the egg will hive her some energy.

My DH says that plain and fruit on the bottom are the only ones with active culture. I didn't know this. So that might help.

I've been mixing my layer pellets up with hot water and just sprinkled with scratch. The chickens gobble it up like it's some great treat. Good thing too, cuz they hate their pellets.

Heck, I'd eat scratch too...it's like candy to us...I'd try to get her onto "real" food quickly. But the yoghurt will help with the diarrhea some. You may have to clip her bum feathers to get it mostly off.

If I ever walked up to me feed store and saw that I would have flipped. They only have chicks in the spring anyway and place like three big orders and that is it. They should be ashamed leaving that bird like that unless someone placed her in there and flew the coop.

Sooo.... what would the symptoms of being eggbound be? This girl is so docile that if you move her head, she just keeps it in that position until you move it again. Don't know if that is lethargy or not. If she is lethargic and has the runs, is that the symptoms of being eggbound? Her stomach feels "doughy" and there is a hard lump deep inside. If she doesn't lay in a day, how do I know whether she was just too old or there was a problem. And since our girls are younger and not laying yet, I don't know if I should have grit in there with the pellets/scratch combo and if she should have a separate thing of oyster shell calcium???

From the pics she looks pretty lively. Egg bound would be a hen that puffs up and acts "dead". From the pics she looks alert and responsive to you. My chickens do that when you catch them. Pretty much push their heads in all kinds of funny directions and they will just stay that way. It seems pretty tame so I bet that's why. Rest, and good food will do her well. Some of my older hens have some poo streaks, but nothing like what your girl there has. Since she gobbles up scratch. I say just leave pellets with her and she'll come to and eat that when she's hungry. With the look of her comb, and the color of her legs, I want to say she's taking winter break right now.
