This really has been a fascinating discussion, and I think some very interesting and thought-provoking points have been made by commenters on both sides of the "chicken kissing" issue. I appreciate every one of you and have enjoyed my time on this thread immensely! Now that the subject has come up for discussion, I really think someone should start a poll to find out how many people kiss chickens and how many do not. That would be a lively thread!

Meh, I dunno how cutting myself ended up with blood tests and a month of recovery; its in the past.... Lol but my point was actually just that literally, I think my animals are cleaner than people

Off to kiss my Big Bird; he missed me and needs his momma to snuggle him before bed.... Then I get to go kiss my husband and make sure I brush my teeth and wash my hands

I'd go for a poll lol...I already know I'm one of "those" people

*just thought of something...I fed chickens, gave them treats, picked berries, ate berries, made coffee...um...still haven't washed my hands .... That's going to be a hard habit to change lol

I just can't kiss a chicken. Or a dog, or a cat, or anything else for that matter. Now, you all know that doesn't mean I don't like being with those critters as much as the next guy - I just think chicken lips must be the pointiest thing on the planet to kiss, and the thought of finding animal hair on my dental floss just doesn't do it for me!

Wow. I've actually had THAT happen... She was my princess Isabella, my chihuahua of 15 years, RIP... Hair literally in my teeth, ugh si annoying...rofl OH I most definitely kissed HER. Repeatedly... For 15 years

Ah, you have one of those friendly, docile roosters! Lucky you! I had one, Scout, who became rather famous on BYC for a time. He was special - I saved him when he had frostbitten feet as a tiny chick....aw, that's another long, drawn out Blooie story and it's probably best that I just steer you to his page, "Frostbitten Feet the Adventures of Scout", link in my signature if you care to meet him.

Anyhow, after all I'd been through with him, he "kissed" me one day. Here it is almost August and I still have a hole in my hand. Yep, enola, pointy beaks!!

Lol Blooie, I'll have a look see at Scout... I can't help it, I've ALWAYS kissed things...except other people lol, always preferred my horse over my friends... Guess I'm just weird and loveable lol...And that's OK with me
