I don’t know anything about duck. Genetics and breeding knowledge of any kind is nill.
With the talk of crested ducks and their breeding and how this little one could possibly be crested it got me thinking. If the thought is that the foot is an absorbed twin couldn’t that be why the skull is misshapen? Is the skull involved? Maybe there is more then just the foot? Right now the feathers look like fluff. But maybe once grown it will have a little more leg (on its head).

Honestly Nunny i'm pretty sure that is what has happened. It is either a twin or a clump of mismapped cells, my bet is on twin though.![]()

No, I have clarified this earlier. I bought the DUCKS from another farm and hatched him myself from their eggs. None of the ducks have crests(The duck is hatched from eggs from another farm, probably with crested ducks.)
I think maybe he isn't crested at all, but looks like one because of his deformity?Parent ducks were from another farm. Egg was hatched by OP. The questionable nature of breeding crested ducks was brought up. I was merely musing the possibilities of getting a crested duck on accident.
