I know it’s a rooster but what breed please

I am not a fan of collars either.

I made one from Velcro and it worked, sort of. Then I threw it away and rented space at a horse stable

That it is. Dubbing was originally done for fighting purposes. People just love to throw it around for some reason. Just because a rooster is dubbed doesn’t mean it’s ever been used or the owner has any intention of doing anything illegal with the bird.

I think putting a collar on any rooster is ridiculously selfish on the part of the *rooster wanter* with no regard for the rooster at all. Putting one on a gamecock is the worst idea I’ve seen on here in awhile.

I completely agree. I actually scoffed when I read it. Please don't put a collar on a rooster *especially a game roo.* It is completely unnatural and as stated above, extremely selfish.

What does that have to do with anything? I have hens that go after hawks, have killed a cat or two etc... they’re very aggressive to protect their chicks and the roosters are aggressive towards other roosters that are competing for hens or territory.

I mean my hens haven't killed a rat, but they did run around the yard with one that my cat killed

As the title says... I know it’s a rooster would like to know the breed....

He’s gorgeous! He looks very much like the jungle fowl or game fowl we have feral here in Hawaii!

Not all gamefowl are created equal. Some just look the part while others really are. Most people just see pretty birds “oh look at the feathers” and I get it but there’s way more to the birds than that.

It's just kind of like a tag. he's been kind of... well I don't want to say it, but he's been in kind of like a dog fight, for chickens. My guess is that's why he's been in the shelter! But he could definitely be a sweet boy if you gave him good Luvs!

I thought that dubbing just meant that the owner was following standard?
