I know it's early but....Who's ready for 2024 Baby Chicks!

Pics
My chicks have not yet arrived. Apparently Friday was ""OBSERVED Veteran's Day," and that put a glitch in the postal service. They may not arrive at my designated post office until Monday. They hatched on Wednesday... I do believe in miracles; I serve a living God who specializes in thrm, so I am hoping for the best ... I'll keep you posted! Prayers appreciated!

Oh, this is worrying! It's so important to check the calendar and especially stay away from weekends. I buy from Meyer and all their chicks hatch on a Monday and they ship right away so they arrive in a day or two, staying away from weekends. I hope and pray they will be OK! Maybe they will come today? My PO will special deliver on Sundays.

No word today either. When I ordered, I was told they would hatch on Monday and arrive on Wednesday. When I had not heard anything by 9:30 Wednesday, I drove to Poplar Bluff to enquire. The PO knew nothing. So I called the hatchery and was told, Oh, no, they just hatched TODAY and have shipped this morning! They will arrive on Friday. .... I had to go to the PO bc the PO only has an 800 number and to track a package you must have a tracking number. But get this, when you go to the hatchery's web site to get a tracking number, it says that BECAUSE OF COVID they don't give tracking numbers! Excuse me, WHAT??? So when I called the hatchery, they said, oh yeah, we can't afford to get that taken down, here's your tracking number .... and that's how I found out my baby birds were in St Louis. 😒 Not happy, folks, not at all happy. Note to self, stick with Mt Healthy. Not doing business with Hoover again. Will let you know tomorrow how this shakes out.

That's awful! Sorry you've had such a bad experience. It doesn't sound like those babies are going to make it. 😞 I have not heard good things about Hoover.

Oh no this is nerve wracking! Mine shipped Monday and I was a nervous wreck. I hope they are healthy, safe and sound at your post office tomorrow!

It would take a miracle. But I have often said I don't BELIEVE in miracles, I DEPEND on them. So until I see otherwise, I will have hope!

That’s ridiculous! MPC is who I ordered from. They’re affiliated with Meyer. They will ONLY ship on mondays unless there is a federal holiday on that Monday, in which case they ship Tuesday. I received shipping information and detailed instructions late Monday afternoon and had them in my brooder by Tuesday. I did intercept at the sorting post office but had I not my local post office would have had them Wednesday. And I was able to follow their journey on the USPS site. I really am so sorry. I’d be so upset.

Thanks. At this point I refuse to be upset. I choose to hope. I know it's unreasonable, but that's what faith does. It hopes against all odds.
