I know it's early but....Who's ready for 2024 Baby Chicks!

Pics
I just placed our newest order for babies from Myers today! I know, I know, but I wanted a few special breeds and such so I had to pull the pin and get my order in. Anyone else already placing orders for 2024, if so what's on your shopping list?

Ordered Speckled Sussex, Blue Americana, and Lisa's Cookies and Cream.
Now the wait begins, 182 days until ship date...... :yesss: :yesss:

Does anyone have any breeds they recommend that lay dark brown?
My FBCM lay the darkest. A caveat, however: there is so much oigment on them that the nesting material tends to stick to them. We use shredded paper, and it has to be washed off. The eggs are a beautiful chocolate color. The hatchery persuaded me to also get some Blue copper Marans: their eggs are not nearly as dark.

Prairie Bluebell Eggers are the best! So sweet and friendly; and the eggs are gorgeous.
Thank you, I'm looking forward to them! They hatched yesterday and will arrive tomorrow. :celebrate:wee

Trying to decide to get sex link chicks or throw my hat in the ring and go “sexed”. The only sex link that I want is a cream legbar, thinking about a white leghorn and then a couple of pretty girls.

You will love Speckled Sussex! My original flock and they are calm and friendly. I had to get different breeds for my next generation because the SS were sold out!

I placed my order as well because I was afraid they would be sold out if I waited any longer. I ordered Olive and Easter Egger chicks and hatching eggs for a project with my students. We can't wait!!
