We (self included) can be quick to say, "no, I'm all right, I don't need anything" when we really COULD use some help even if just in little things. By letting other people help us, we also give them a way to express their care for us, and to do something useful. It's not taking advantage of your friends or situation; it's giving people who care about you the opportunity to show that care in a practical way.
