I was looking at cadillacs yesterday and that was the brand that I thought hit me... a de'ville. The black striping we found wouldn't make since, but who knows maybe that was already there.

I'm thinking of going to school about when they let out and see if I can recognize the boy(s).... I am pretty sure I would recognize them if I saw them... I haven't heard anything back from the detective yet....

I am soooo sure that it's the car... I went back at 3 but I guess school gets out earlier than that because the where gone already. I'll just wait for the detective to call hopefully tomorow.

My hubby seems to think that they probably put the grass in for an excuse for their parents... oh I hit a curb or something. There was a bit of rubber on the car thou...

I'm afraid the pot won't even be an issue at this point. It's been two days and quite frankly, you are the only one who said you smelled it. And my guess is, any parent who sends their kid to school in his own caddy and same kid just happens to have his own 200 dollars laying around at home in a drawer (or whatever), isn't going to believe that their precious baby boy would have ever been smoking pot.
When you said a cadillac, I'm thinking one of those really old ones that are long as a boat. This is crazy. Why haven't they been able to help you yet? If the detective couldn't find anything out, are the police at least looking?
This should have been taken care of that first day before school even let out.

I bet one of the department's dogs could sniff that car out real good!

I keep having to check your thread for updates - I would really love to see you get justice. Accidents are bad enough, but a hit and run is down right disgusting.

Yeah, that car is crazy for a H.S. kid - his parents must be loaded. That could be a good thing if this is a state that holds parents legally liable for the actions of minors, some do and some don't.

Either way, and even if the police don't come thru, I still think there's a good civil court case in small claims here. After all you only have to prove "more likely than not" in such cases. How many kids in that H.S. drive caddy's like that??

Then add in the front end damage, and a physical ID from the victim, and it should be a pretty easy case to prevail on I would think.

I am puzzled as to why their air-bag didn't go off though... you'd think a modern caddy like that would have a functioning air-bag... maybe it was disabled - another legal infraction??

Along that vein, just for a laugh and to remind us all that karma does indeed exist in the universe, I offer the following...

Where's the smiley guy walking and kicking at stones on the ground - hands in pocket. That would totally reflect my feelings when I read this. I promise each of us is bummed out for you too. Don't lose hope!

I'm starting to think either

1.) No one cares, it wasn't like there wasn't a car around my 18th month old.... it could of soo easily been a kid on a bike or something.

2.) They weren't students, it was just a cover up so the kid could ditch what ever weed they had.

I have been pacing the neiborhood... I can't believe there is so many white caddies....
