I lost my car yesterday... update... the kid is in jail!!

I always carry a small camera in my handbag just in case I need to get a license number, but don't have a pen to write it down ...or to take a photo of anything that looks out of the ordinary.

Yeah, the sad truth is now days it is very difficult to get much out of the Police if it is only a property crime and less than $10K in many departments - hopefully yours is different... but around here we've been literally told that.

Don't get discouraged too fast though... the police could still be working on it. And you could still consider posting a reward for information leading to the identification of the vehicle. You might consider local body shops, the accident neighborhood, the local school.

These perps may be laying low now, but they probably don't have the patience/discipline to do so for long. I'd stake out the entrances to the school, and the key intersections of other roads and the road that the kids were merging on from the ally about the time the accident happened. They may be avoiding the alley and that road, but in doing so could still be going thru these key intersections. Look a map and visualize what other local routes someone might take to avoid that street - they may alter their path, but most people are lazy and won't go too far out of their way.

Good luck

I do this too - if in an accident, the first thing you do is photograph their license plate and then the general situation, most people realize fleeing the scene will only make things worse.

The car you are looking for would have damage higher than what you have shown in your picture. The picture shows damage from what looks like bottoming out or nose diving in the ground.
good luck Will
p.s. always get a plate # first,don't trust anyone.

I have got last years year book from the school and picked out someone I think might be the kid that walked to school... and four more second picks.... the kid that walked to school was pretty unique, the driver was more ordinary. So hopefully if I find the kid I will find the driver.

I'm pretty sure nothing will come of it... but this is my last option I guess.

I can't help but stare at every white boat car that passes by and think... is that it?? I was told it was a cadi, but alot of boats look like cadis... and not many cadis have that long black rubber piece on the front. (It fell off what ever it is called.)

I'll keep you updated if their is anything to update.

Thanks everyone.

again I don't think they care... the were supposed to talk to the school but I have talked with the school more than they have. The officer at the school has talked with me more, and has put more effort into finding the kids than the police. It's just not worth their time....

and it makes me wonder what is the point of being honest?? It just seems like I am always the one that gets ... it in the end.... and they get away with... well what ever they want to get away with.

Yea I am going to put together a kit for this with a pen and paper and camera... hopefully I will never need to use it..

Have you spoken to your insurance company?

A guy backed out of a parking lot into my son's car and then gave a phony phone number so we couldn't track him down. Somehow, we ended up getting a BETTER deal from the insurance company because of that.

So didn't these kids leave the scene of an accident? Isn't that against the law? I would think that would make finding them a higher priority.
