I lost my car yesterday... update... the kid is in jail!!

The kid was caught today... not sure of all the details, all I know is he is in jail and will be for a very long time (maybe drugs???) and he confessed.

I might know more later.

I thought I would be happy... but I'm a bit depressed actually... I hope he didn't ruin his life over this.. it is a week away from graduation... if he was in school... Mixed emotions I guess.

Wow. Don't mess with karma. And don't feel too bad - if he's in jail for a long time then this couldn't have been his only screw-up, but maybe just his wake-up call. I hope it's enough to make him straighten out, and I admire that you have sympathy for him.

Well I personally am glad he was caught and you shouldn't feel too bad either. He did this to himself and if he's in jail, like someone else already said, he's probably got more on the rap sheet than just this incident. Even if he doesn't, if he'd gotten away with this, it would only embolden him to take more risks. This is necessary to hopefully keep people like him from careening farther and farther out of control and ultimately killing someone.

Please don't feel bad about the kid getting caught, because he obviously didn't feel bad that he hit you and your child. It's better for him to get caught now, maybe he's young enough to learn a lesson. If not, than atleast he'll be off the streets for a little while and the public at large is a little safer.

Unfortuantly, if he is a minor he won't be in jail that long. Kids get away with too much which is why the repeat offend. Even if he is an adult, he will only serve 1/3 the jail sentence.

Don't feel too bad. If he was close to graduating, he'll still graduate. Maybe it'll make a better person of him.

not much new info, but the kid is 18, turning 19, so he has probably already finished school. and the car was a 94 fleetwood.

I found out hit and run is a class 4 felony... ouch.

Glad they found him!

It would be nice to know how they got him and where they found him. Was it stolen or did it have insurance?

ok here is what I found out.

Two weeks before the accident the kid has robbed or stolen something, and had a warrant out for his arrest.... so I'm not feeling sorry for him anymore.

How did he get caught?? well he took the plates off of his car and put them on another car.... and let his friend (who had no drivers licence) drive the car with his plates on it.

so not the smartest crimanal in the world.
