Thank you everyone
....I appreciate your responses. As it would take too long to quote each of you & answer questions, I'll respond to a few here:
*there are no "animal welfare" agencies here & what there is is pitiful. As long as an animal is fed/watered daily & has any type of shelter...nothing will be done
*I don't care about the job...I won't go back....I start a new job Monday...I only care about Gilbert & his well being
*They're not just horse owners...they have over 500 animals, 100 different species. They own them because they can, but know nothing about them or their care...the more delicate ones with special needs will die. When I got there, fruit eaters were eating alpo canned dog food....the gentle reindeer had her antlers knocked off with a baseball bat because she was taking too long to shed them & the owner needed them to finish decorating his entrance sign...animals are pushed into trailers with heavy equipment (dozers & forklifts)...animals with serious injuries left to die on their own because they don't believe in euthanasia or want to pay for it. Yesterday was just my breaking point. I stayed because I cared & tried to give those animals a better life than they would have without me. I feel so sorry for all of them...but my heart just can't do it anymore.
*Raising a joey is not like a puppy...it's as close to a new born human that you can get. If it didn't have a drive-through, I haven't been there...no grocery store, no
walmart,no family vacation, nothing. Feeding every 2 hours around the clock & working 60+ hours a week with him hanging over my shoulder in his pouch. And yes...I did think about stealing him!
*Freds Hens...you are absolutely right, but this is not an office job & I'm not just leaving a desk at their mercy...these are living creatures. Because I care is why this is so hard.
