I missed a fight in my yard

Thanks, Natural Chicken! It's nice to hear someone besides me was concerned.

Oh this really needs a picture to go with the description.

ha I had to do it once, picture long full length black northface coat, and Arai motorcycle helmet complete with face sheild and one nasty roo who I named Borrowed Time.

What happened is that the night before after talking on byc I went to inspect how many toes my mixed chooks had. well Borrowed time was always giving me the stink eye, and that night he was not thrilled to have me come into the coop and look at his hens up close. he freaked out and flew at my head and flogged me.

The next day in order to catch nim and bring him to his new home I wore the "outfit" it wasnt needed though as I just tossed a blanket over him and scooped him up.

He went to a good home actually (would have been soup) but someone liked him and wanted him as a main flock roo to defend their girls. I warned him but it was a mature couple and they did not mind.

and to the op we are all glad they are better, we were all concerned I think possibly even more than you were, but I am happy to hear that they are both on the mend.

i have 5 roos to 11 hens all different breeds not raised together and i never see them downright attack eachother its all over before they get a hit in they just have staring contest with there feathers rumpled up but they are free range on 40 acres even though they always stay close and my leghorn trys to heard the white rock like he would a hen with a wing to the ground running around him they have never fought and get along good and would probly be heartbroken if i took 1 away and as for roosters not hurting when they bite i have 1 banty roo that laches down and has drawn blood ill probly be getting rid of him if i can get another sebright roo i thought he has calmed down since i can now point out his waddles and comb to ppl since not manney around here have seen a rose comb we only have the comets and roadislandreds around here but lastnight my mom went to pet him while i was holding him and he bit down hard
but if the rooster sees you everyday he will usually accept you as part of his flock my leghorn would never get close enough to attack me but it has chased my cousin around and attacked my dads boot who holds it up and lets him attack cuz he thinks its funny which it is i just dont think we should encourage it

They both don't look good. I think you might have to chose which has to go or to stay.
But I'm happy your roo's are okay.
