I don't remember any high flutey areas when I lived in MI

I am sorry your buyer backed out, but I can certainly understand her point of view about mold. It is very nasty stuff to have to deal with, and if your child has had compromised health issues, it is probably the wiser choice. You should go ahead with the repair and cleanup so that it does not become an issue with a future purchaser.

That is so great that your mom is able and willing to purchase the land.

On the 3 acre parcel.......the seller's attorney is working on drawing up that contract and has contacted my attorney, but left her a message saying there was something unusual. We don't know what that could be. My attorney thinks it's because it's a subdivision and has requested a copy of the survey. Hopefully that's all it is!

Have you found out what that was about? If it is a subdivision or HOA, make sure you know whether your animals are allowed.

I met with a salesman from a modular builder yesterday. I'm a little annoyed with that meeting, because the salesman was very vague about pricing. She claims I can do it within my budget, but was very nonspecific.

I'm very skeptical about someone who can "meet your budget" but never names a specific price for a specific product. Quite frankly, I do not like the idea of telling someone my budget--I feel it sets me at exactly that price, rather than giving me flexibility to pick and choose whether to spend the entire amount or merely a portion of it.​

I agree. Be very skeptical of the "oh you can afford it" spiels.

We looked at a house and were told we "qualified" for a certain amount.
I said we don't want to tie up our cash making a house payment and staying home and eating dry noodles.

They said, but based on your debt to income ratio.......
I said give me that paper and started writing down "little things" like food, gasoline, water bill, electric etc and said NOW you do the math. Goodbye.

We walked out and never talked to someone who didn't give us prices right after we said what we were looking for.

UGH! I NEED A BUYER!!! I need someone to buy my house to make this process easier. Yes, my mother says she'll put the loan of the property in her name until the house sell if necessary, but we're not certain she can do that. She's not sure she made enough of an income to get the loan. Co-signing with my husband may do the trick, but I'm really nervous! The seller of the property is moving forward with the sale process. We haven't received the contract yet, but I think we will soon. I don't want to lose it!

I just wish someone would buy my house!

I've been going over the engineer's report and checking things off as I fix them. Light bulbs replaced, tree limbs trimmed, hole in the garage ceiling patched, leaking faucet fixed, central AC filter replaced, fireplace cleaned out and nonstructural cracks in the foundation filled. We have a mold specialist coming next week to clean the spot in the attic. My husband has a to do list and the poor guy will be completing a couple of those items each weekend.

I've advertised like crazy. Hung up fliers all over town, placed adds in newspapers and tomorrow my mother (my real estate broker) will be doing an open house. I just can't believe the deal fell through! I'm so bummed out!

FYI I've been getting a lot more response by listing and advertising the house for sale by owner than with my listing with a real estate agency. I've had 4 open houses and only 1 person showed plus 2 agents. A total waste of time! I've had one other person who was supposed to look with an agent and canceled last minute. But with my advertising for sale by owner I've had 6 phone calls! The first was the woman who's deal fell through. Hopefully the woman looking tomorrow will like it!

In the meantime I just notified the seller's broker for the 3 acre parcel that the sale of my house fell through. The purchase of the land is on contingent with us selling our home, so the broker was bummed out to say the least. He says other people are looking and are interested. How do I know if he's telling the truth or if he's just talkin' smack?

I asked that the seller give us a 120 days to close from the signing of the contract instead of the 60 days that we agreed on. He said he doesn't think he would, but like I said, I don't know if the broker is being truthful or not.

He said he'd call me tomorrow.

I'm soooooooo tired of cleaning my house and trying to make it look like a show room every day!

It's sooooooooo hard to do that with two young children constantly taking every toy they own out!

I can't wait till this is all over! I feel like I'm wasting my whole summer on this. I need to get to the beach more!

And we are trying our hand at honeybees. Mmmmm!
