I need help!!

And you haven't seen the chick poop ? You should have they poop a lot as in very often . The chick could just be a squeaky wheel .One that is a talker . Some are like that but most of the time there is a reason . The gang has pretty much covered ever one of those . If it was mine I would milk or attempt to milk the vent as I would to vent sex the chick . This isn't hard but has to be done gently . Rather than try and explain this I would suggest you google vent sexing chicks and watch a video or two . I would not do anything If what you have done so far settles down the chick . Just be sure the chick poops . Good luck .

The chick has ate and drank since last night and I put it in a box alone is this normal for chicken poop? I've been reading so many things think I'm getting paranoid now.

is that the only poop it had?

I was asking you to check it's crop because the way chickens eat, they eat until their crop is full. .. then the crop slowly empties as the food moves further down their digestive system.

Baby chicks should all have a full or mostly full crop when they nap. So... a chick will run around, eat and drink, and then nap. When the crop empties it is ready to run around and eat and drink again.

After a chick eats for a bit, you should be able to gently feel the crop and tell that it has feed.

If the chick just drank, you might make it spit the water back up if you aren't gentle enough. Not a big deal, just an FYI so you don't panic.

Thank you i appreciate it. I'm new this baby chicken thing. The chick is now active and happy so thinking was constipated cause the warm soak really helped.

I read through all of this and learned some new things. Not that I have any intention of bringing home new chicks this spring.

The poop is alarming, I know. Been there earlier last year. Some of them pooped just like that, and of course I thought that was that. They're all dying and I'm terrible at raising chicks. Poop is often a good indicator that something is wrong. But mine didn't exhibit any symptoms aside from occasional droppings that looked just like that.

Bathing chickens in warm epsom salt water is a great remedy for lots of different situations. Or just warm water if you don't have epsom salt. But in addition to the coconut oil, I would add epsom salt to your first aid chicken care kit, and a small jar of raw local honey for wounds.

Just be careful not to let the chicks drink the salt water. I've read in the forums that epsom salt is a laxative. I'm not sure it's something you can safely given chickens internally.

Is it rainy or cold where you live? Have you exposed them to the bare earth in your yard yet?
