I need help!!! My daughter found this abandoned duckling which we have decided to keep. The duck has developed a crooked neck. I have been following wry neck instructions. Selenium,Calcium,Niacin, and Poly Vi multi vitamin, in water along w apple cider vinegar. Am I doing the right thing. New to this! Posted when she was in the water, and when dry plus what she looked like a couple of weeks ago. Also is this new feathers coming in on top of head (molting?). 6395349E-E79A-4B5F-8DCA-A1843D4E9792.jpeg

Yes you’re doing everything perfect. There will be some people on this forum that will bombard you with things such as “bring that duckling to a wildlife sanctuary”
But I’ve helped wild ducklings before. You raise them up till they can fly and then they’ll go off looking for mate the next spring. It’s very rewarding

Sounds like you're doing it right! The only thing I would add is to make sure the baby is eating enough. You may have to hold its' head upright for a few days, but it should be able to take in enough nutrition that way, at least until it can eat totally on its' own again.
Good Luck!

My husband built an enclosure for the chickens and the duck. And a duck house. Was going to get another duck to keep it company. Is that the right thing to do?

You are doing great!!!!! Do you hang out with the duckling a lot? If so it has most likely going to be very close with you. It would hate to part with you. I would say keep it. Some would say not to, but you are most likely it mom. It would hate to be away from you. I would say get another duck. Also, are you going to have both chickens and ducks in that run? If so it might be to small. Also cuz it is wild it might fly away. When it gets older you might have to clip its wings. OK sorry for all of that info, its just when I see somebody who needs help I want to help them as much as I can. Well anyway... best wishes!!!!!
