Ok.... I need pictures of clean, small, cute coops that would be attractive in a gaited community. Like with houses side-by-side.... and attractive to the POA.
Thanks!!!
Our lots are 6000 sq feet the houses are 10 to 14 feet apart. I painted the coop to match the shed. My neighbors love it.
Visiting with me at nap time.
Eating my spinach.
and the raspberries.
and some BOSS to get them to be still.
Introducing a new girl after the loss of a sister.
They seem to like her.
She is a warm body on a cold night. They will let her stay.
The main reason I used to get my husband to OK them. BUGS. The caterpillars were destroying my flowers and a tree. The first summer the girls were here I saw not a single caterpillar. They also eat chickweed and provide fertilizer. They do get into their egg song some times, but it is in the coop and not to bad. As you can see I still have a lush lawn. I did have to buy some scarecrow sprinklers to save my flowers, but the bug predation is well worth it.
I don't understand why this happens. TBH i think a lot of it is down to noise and the cockrel in the AM but if you don't have one what is the issue?! Chooks do sing a little but it's not un-listen-toable. I would post pics for you but my chickens (only new!) live in a stable for the winter gets to -10 most winter nights!. I will have lovely outside pics in the spring!
