What a lovely flock! Wonderful names, too. They seem to fit them perfectly.

Thanks! A lot of them I don't have anymore (died or sold). But I loved them all. That's actually not all of them -- but it's all the good pictures.

Same here. How many do you reckon ya have? I probably have around 60-70 in the layer pen, then I have around 40-50 in the front yard then I have my quad of Seramas in the backyard and then I have all my chicks out in the Poultry Palace...there might be anywhere from 50-60 babies, maybe more, maybe less. That's just the chickens, I wasn't counting the Guineas, Button Quail, or Ducklings.

Here are some pics of how simple it can be and shouldn't be looked at different than raising any other type of bird. Are backyard aviaries illegal in your area too?

This hen house is 4'x4'x5' and easily holds 3 hens at night:

Here is a hen in the hen house laying an egg in a simple drawer.

It's nothing big and elaborate but perfect for people who live in a city and want 'their own' eggs

Check out the pictures on my post!!! Lots of good ones in a normal back yard!

With our chickens we had only 5 bugs in the house ALL year! They ate all the bugs, we used NO pestacides or insectacides and our grass was SOOO green, their poo washed into our grass and the earthworms came in abundance and made everything SO fertile!!! The neighbors LOVED them and their eggs. Of course I had NO rooster. I always checked to see if their egg songs bothered the neighbors and they all said no! The chickens were great and I can't WAIT to move into a new house where I can get MORE MORE MORE chickens!!!

I have 12. I'd like more, and actually need more, because half of them are getting old or are too old to lay. But to do that I either need to cull the old girls or build a bigger house for them (I prefer the latter idea). I have dreams of having a breeding flock of Barred Rocks and/or Delawares, since so far those have been my favorite breeds. You have a lot more than I, and I'm quite jealous of the guineas and ducklings.

Don't stop, fishnet! Bird and his girls are so picture perfect!
