i officially hate fourth of july

the one thing i hate about the fourth is the stupid irresponsible people that get drunk and then shoot there guns.it makes scared about getting shot or my family

my dog is actually doing fairly well this year. either losing her brother has made her feel less responsible and freaky, or she's going deaf. either way. it's been a pretty easy 4th so far.

poor chickens on the other hand, did not like the show AT ALL. and i could also really do without it...and that noxious smell....

Everyone is ok her but my 90lb dog. Scared out of his mind trembling under my chair. That's why I am still up; to comfort him. Chickens don't seem to care, nor does the new puppy. But my dog... he just doesn't like booming sounds. Power tools are fine as are other things that make loud roars, but booming-even drums!-scares him witless.

It's 2am here and people are STILL letting off those loud (illegal, here) rocket boomers. DANG. Two am, seriously??? Our chickens are not liking the loud noises but refused to go up into their hen house until it got dark (yeah, people here were setting off fireworks all day long . . . ). One of our dogs LOVES fireworks, she could stand there and enjoy the show for hours, but the other dog is scared witless. Wouldn't eat her dinner, shaking, panting, wild-eyed, tail tucked . . . Hubby and I felt so bad for her. Eventually she settled down under Hubby's computer desk, but still. And she fell asleep for a while but now the idiots are setting up rockets again and she's starting the terrified thing all over again.

At least none of the fallout is hitting our property this year -- unlike LAST year.

Count me in as one of those people who is really beginning to hate the 4th of July because of inconsiderate louts that set off illegal rocket type fireworks at 2am and keep me up and terrify my dog.

yes, it's close to 1am here. just grateful i don't have to work tomorrow, and that my animals are safe and calm. the gunfire? another story. i just don't get why someone would risk hurting someone just to get their gun-happy-ya-yas out. same for the fireworks, really - woo hoo! look at the shiny lights! hear the boom! SMELL the sulpher! i just don't get it. whoop-de-doo.

Exactly! And talk about recession. How is it that everyone and their brother can afford fireworks this year and the really big ones! Those things are expensive lol. Didn't get to bed late here and woke up to the dumb dogs wanting food lol. And woke up to poop everywhere!!!!!!! Greatttt. Another reason to hate Hahahaha!!

Every year my back neighbors shoot off fireworks,and they are directed over my yard/home.I spend the next day picking them off the roof ,out of pool,and so on.Now the neighbors across the street shot them off into my front yard. You would think the police(station down the road) would stop them,but they just look the other way. TG it is just 1 or 2 days a year.I have read some people have neighbors shooting them off DAILY.

I locked all animals and pets up by 9pm,shut the windows,and had the tv loud but I still heard them overhead at midnight.Ugh.Glad it is July 5th. I would never do it,but sometimes I imagine shooting off a lot of fireworks right over THEIR houses.But even in my *dreams* I get the police showing up to stop me after a few or I blow off my fingers.

My brilliant neighbor finally blew off his last stick of dynamite around 2:30, just as I was getting ready to call the Sheriff. My patience was at an end since DH had to get up for work at 6am.

My cats were really intrigued by the neighbors' bottle rockets. I thought they would run and hide, but instead they were looking out the window, totally curious about what could possibly be making all that noise.

The fire works starts on July 1st and goes on and on. I have one dog that is just terrified of the sounds even when some one pops a bread bag. this dog goes crazy. It was a long night the poor guy spent most of the night under my bed or my DS's bed. I really hate the 4th of July no one is celebrating it for the real reason just and excuse to get drunk and make a bunch of noise all night long. I heard fireworks at 7am here today. The kind of fire works everyone is shooting are not even legal in the city. I live 1/2 a block from the sheriff's and police station and people are shoot them off on this block. Ugggggg. The police don't do anything it is a shame. They are talking about allowing fireworks to be legal next year. I will hopefully be on my farm by then. I am just fed up with everyone.
