I am a retired soldier and I support Kevin's right not to say the pledge.

My intention wasn't to start a debate. My dh is in the Air Force, has been for over 20 now, we firmly believe in saying the pledge. I just want to say I support the military, and their sacrifices so we can live the peaceful lives we live here in America.

you should read the book nothing but the truth by AVI. it is really good. the book is about a boy in his class who stands up and sings the national anthem. they suspend him from school because singing the national anthem was considered a distraction during school while people are just listening to the music. its good i actually read it during school.

^That just makes me think of wanting to do art during the art class when the teacher had 'assigned' us to watch Predator.

America is all about having the freedom to choose... I for one hope that things don't get so nasty that the lawmakers actually try and take any person's right to say no away from them... horrible slope to start sliding down.

I hold freedom near and dear to my heart.... However no reason to not teach that kid some respect though..
