Rust paw found a low tree branch and sat there. Suddenly a shrew poked its head out a hole below him. watching it he got ready to pounce. one... two... three... Rustpaw tried to pounce on the shrew but ended up with a mouthful of dirt.

"Patience," chided Auburnleaf. "Wait for it to get comfortable walk around, maybe put itself into a corner."

again, Rustpaw lept up onto a branch and waited till he caught scent of a rabbit! The rabbit was in a blueberry bush to the left of him. The bush rustled and the rabbit came out. Rustpaw stiffened. The rabbit hopped over to the base of the tree and then...
POUNCE! Rustpaw pounced on the rabbit delivering a killing bite! Overjoyed he carried his prize to Auburnleaf.
