Finchstripe leaped out of the bushes, Landing a mouse-length away from Nightpaw. Playfully cuffing her over the ears, she said "You were so intent on that mouse that you didn't pay any attention to me! Great catch, by the way!"
(Hey guys! Sorry I've been off the last couple of days. Should I make Finchstripe an apprentice? She seems to love hanging out with them, and she is always getting into mischief.)

Nightpaw jumped two feet into the air. "Oh. You're not a badger." She mewed matter-of-factly, as if Finchstripe hasn't scared her at all. She picked up the mouse and followed the older she-cat back to camp.

Yes! Keep stalling in the forest, Nightpaw! Tanglepelt will have your tail off when you get back to camp!

Auburnleaf nudged Rustpaw to start hunting.

Rustpaw takes all the sents in before stalking off to a nearby maple tree.

Catching the scent of a nearby vole he waited for what felt like moons until... Wham! he dove straight for the little mammal and took its life with a quick killing bite shooting a look that said: Ha! bet you can't do better than that! right in Nightpaw's face.

Going back to camp Rustpaw spotted a commotion from the nursery. Peeking in he saw a couple balls of fluff mewing.

"Hey, Droppaw!"
(I think Droppaw and Honeypaw are her siblings)

"Hi Galepaw," he said cheerily, put out of his mood.

"I can't wait to see the new kits!" Galepaw meowed excitedly. "They have such TINY PAWS!" She bounced three times to prove her point.

"Yes, kits," said Droppaw. He didn't like kits much.

Honeypaw limped into the Nursery. Five kits squirmed around near Pearlglow's belly.
She smiled. They were so tiny!

Rustpaw caught one glimpse of the kits and he was spellbound. Was I ever that small? he wondered. No! don't think thoughts like that! You're going to be a warrior, not a queen!
