Shadowchaser curled up in the nursery den and fell asleep.

Puddlekit hunched her shoulders. "But tomorrow is so. far. away."


Galefeather looked at Icepaw. "Maybe we can get whoever is going to be deputy to send out a patrol to look for Emberfeather. Or you could convince your sister to stay."

“Perhaps....” Icepaw mewed our loud. “ I think that Finchstripe or Silverwing will be deputy. Who do you think will be?”

Flamepaw felt a kit move beside her and pulled the kit closer with her tail. She was comforted by the kits and Rustpaw allowing herself to sleep properly.

Rustpaw could feel the kits next to him. He felt protective over Flamepaw and the kits.

Puddlekit whined. "But I wanna go play!" She flopped on the floor and pouted.

“Aww, Puddlekit! It’s past your bedtime. We are all tired. Everyone here needs a good night’s sleep.”

Lightkit whimpered and snuggled between the apprentices.
“I want Emberfeather. Where is Fluffypaw?” She asked.

Sprucetail was afraid for his sister. He was afraid for what they would do to her. He was afraid she would not be able to bear the trauma and difficulty of leading a divided Clan.
He saw what hate, cowardice and ignorance had done to it.
He saw Luna back down like a coward. He saw his Clanmates lash out. And he saw many hurt feelings.
Most of all he saw broken promises.
A Leader promises to lead the Clan, even in the hardest of times. She promises to lift the Clan out the darkness and give each of her lives for them.
A Warrior promises to be strong and supportive, and embrace the honorable Warrior life and code.
A Mother promises to care for her family, and be there for them as much as she possibly can.

Rustpaw fell asleep to Flamepaw's gentle breath.

Lightkit whimpered and snuggled between the apprentices.
“I want Emberfeather. Where is Fluffypaw?” She asked.

Flamepaw mewed softly, “I do to, Fluffypaw is out in camp helping rebuild it.”
