I promise... *A warrior cat RP*

(That's what I was thinking.)

Nightpaw watched with hollow eyes as her mentor was buried. He had barely trained with her, but she still remembered touching her nose to his, and his soft murmur of encouragement. She stared at the ground, then turned and limped back to camp. All these cats arguing and leaving the clan over petty things, while warriors are being buried. She thought bitterly, her ears against her head.

Softkit was still awake. She sat silently, her eyes on the forest. She still had hope that Emberfeather would come right back to camp, but deep down she knew she wouldn't.

Softkit didn't. Her eyes were distant, and she barely payed attention to the other kits' talk.

(When did a kit get this wise? xD)

Softkit snapped back to reality. "Gingerkit?" She mewed, her voice strangely quiet. She prodded her sister.
As Nightpaw grieved, Dropspring remembered why the clan was gathered there, and so he held vigil as well, sadness emanating from him. These cats could not be forgotten already, could they?

Flamepaw stared at the ground. “Nightpaw! I didn’t see you there! Are you okay?”
Nightpaw was sitting by the medicine cat's den, looking at her mangled paw. "Well, what do you think?" She asked wryly, giving the bloodied fur a lick.

(Note: Nightpaw wasn't there when Flamepaw started threatening to leave and called her one of the only ones that cared about her.)

Nightpaw eyed her, and was about to say something sarcastic, but saw the look in Flamepaw's eyes and decided not to. "Sure," she said casually, going back to licking her paw.
“I plan to leave. Can I trust you to watch Darkkit? He will try to follow me. Tell no cat I’m gone until tomorrow and please tell Rustpaw to understand.” She waited for an angry response. “I need to find Emberfeather.”

Dropspring continued to cry, but a plan formed in his mind and a smile curled across his lips. He excused himself to the warrior's den and listened to what would happen next from his nest.
