So happy for you! I've never been a smoker, but both of my parents did. Now, my mom has lung disease, even though they quit probably 30 years ago. Dad is just fine.

My husband also quit, and I believe it's been around 7 or 8 years for him. He quit the day he had surgery on his esophagus. The doc told him that the nicotine irritates the esophagus, and he had to quit. So he smoked his last cigarette hours before his surgery.

I'm so glad to finally have a smoke free home!

Not to mention that I noticed the other day, an advertisement for a Marlboro cigs for over $5.87 a pack, and then a carton was over $58.00! Think of the money you're saving!

CONGRATULATIONS BECAUSE THIS IS A BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT!

My friend has been a smoker for over 30 years. Her daughter found out in July that she is having twin girls in December. My friend is not allowed to babysit or have the girls over to her house unless she quits smoking! If that doesn't get to want to stop smoking, nothing will! I am encouraging her to stop, I have offered to help her de"smoke" her whole house, washing down the walls, shampooing her carpets, etc. She has some physical problems so I have even offered to help her babysit. She cannot take care of them by herself. Any who, congrats to all of you who have quit!! It is a very, very hard thing to do!!

Good for you! Before long you will feel so much better...and the urge to kill people will pass too...till you get to my age then it comes back! LOL I have been smoke free for over 30 years now. I loved smoking and still miss it but don't regret quitting. Only wish I had done it even earlier. I figured out if I didn't light it...I couldn't smoke it. Works well that way!

April 25th was 2 years smoke free for me. I used the Chanitx, and after a few weeks, I laid them down, and just never picked up another one. Every now and then, one still smells good, but not good enough to try it. I would be afraid of not being able to quit again. Food and elastic became my friends, and now I have started to lose the weight that I gained. Maybe soon I can drop the rest. I smoked for 35 years, up to 2 packs a day. Isn't it a great feeling, to be a non smoker, and to know you did it yourself! Yay for all of you!

I did 6 days cigarette free last week. Went to my sisters on saturday and smoked (a lot). Started all over Sunday morning and now am on day 3.

Way to go man! That's a great accomplishment. I quit 8 years ago I think. Best thing I ever did.

I put all my nervous energy into housework... NOT.
