I really could use some sound advice....

I have not personally seen him. But I did dip his beak in the water a couple times throughout the day yesterday. I also got some sav a chick for his water to help boost him. :)

Are you keeping him under high heat? Sometimes these slow to progress chicks need more heat than the others and it can do wonders for these types of babies. Something around 98 to 100 degrees can help.

Keep us posted! I hope he makes it thru. :)

I bought a 250w red light bulb at feed mill yesterday. Cause his buddy was pecking at him. So the red light stopped that. When you pick him up he's toasty warm :)

Oh he's getting lots of lovin's. Between all of us. My boyfriend didn't find it amusing when I told him, don't be surprised if you don't find him in bed with us one night all snuggled up. LOL ;-D

I'm coming in late but, so glad to hear he is doing okay. You need to see if the buddy turns out to be bad addition. Don't allow him to abuse the other chick too much? If he does, buddy needs to be put elsewhere or divide the brooder to keep them apart. Check to see that the chicks can move away from the heat lamp if they get too warm.

Lonely chicks can be comforted by having a small stuffed toy and /or mirror put near them so they think there is another chick. Till chicks realize where their food is and what they are supposed to eat, they do consume some shavings- you can put towel paper over the shavings to prevent that.

Thank you! I think Buddy & Sparky were just getting to know each other because they are doing well together now. There's plenty of space to get out of the heat lamp. They are in a 55 gallon aquarium. Which is located in the center of my living room with us so we are keeping constant eyes on them :) you guys are so awesome! I am so glad I joined!! Thank you!!!
