I love your mixed flock. We have a lot of the same birds, except for your dark Brahma and your Sapphire Gem, those are the ones I don’t have. I enjoy looking at all the different breeds across my yard.
I just love Humphrey. I don’t know why but I just can’t seem to take a Bantam Cochin rooster seriously for some reason. He is so stinking cute. I finally got a full size partridge Cochin pullet this past spring and I love her to death. Her name is Cocoa.
I used to live in Dalton, GA but moved to Centre, AL 10 years ago so I feel like we live really close, well comparatively speaking, since this site has people from all over the world. Anyway, once again,

How fun that we have many of the same breeds!! I’m afraid I’m a bit of a chicken collector, I have a list of more breeds I’d like when we have room for more chickens...
And I cannot take Humphrey seriously either, I think it’s part of what makes him so great, lol. Watching him run around the yard after the hens is really hilarious, he looks like he’s wearing little pants with all those feathers. He also doesn’t crow normally, he just makes this adorable sound that reminds me of some kind of a toy!
He is super friendly though, and although he can’t manage to fertilize any of my full size girls, I highly recommend a bantam Cochin if you want an agreeable breed! He’s quite sweet. I’d love a full size Cochin someday if they’re equally as nice.Thanks for the welcome, I think BYC is great!!
