I guess it makes sense. One of the 4 month old girls I got was pecking at the 8 week old girl. Don’t think she would try to put the 8 week old male in a pecking order.

And yes so excited for blue eggs!

Easter Eggers may lay blue, but could also be pink, green or tan. Great birds!

Also update I brought the little unknown gender chicken back to the place I got them from and they are saying it is a hen not a rooster.. so I guess we will find out if she starts crowing Or the popping out eggs!

I'd bet good money that it is a cockerel. Larger red comb, little tail development yet, and some reddish leakage at the shoulders are all signs of a boy. If I were you I would take him back again and tell them you either want a pullet or want your money back for that one bird. I think they are hustling you.

I hope not. They were kind of jerks about it too - there like oh people you know said it was a cockerel? I'm like YES SIR!! my friends told me! and I brought the bird in he cracked the lid and said nope its a hen- we only got hens...

Id want another bird so id have to wait until they got more birds which they said will be another week or 2
