Thanks! I'm glad to finally know what they are, and so thankful they are friendly breeds!Way too early to tell the sex on the silkies, but both those and EE's are GREAT breeds! Some of my absolute favorites.
That thread really helped! I had no idea how to tell the differences. I'd love to have an Araucana one day, but I'm going to enjoy my Easter Egger for now!Rumpless means no tail. Araucanas only lay blue eggs along with true ameraucanas. There's a thread called "differences between ee, ameraucana and araucana" it's got some good information in it. I bought them at our small town feed store. I suppose I should have considered the idea that they were straight run when the employees didn't know what breed the chicks were... I don't know what hatchery they use.Where did they come from? I don't think there is any hatchery that sexes silkies--they'd be making serious bank if they did.
