So my husband is sick. And, God help me I LOVE this man so, but I cannot gather any sympothy for him. It's horrible! The problem is he acts like he is DYING every time he gets a cold. I can be sick with a fever of 103, chills and vomiting, and still get up do laundry and take care of the five kids. He has a slight fever, and cough and nearly called me to come pick him up from work today. Hasn't moved off the couch in two days. I mean i love you to death but suck it up buttercup!!! Then I think to myself, he could be really sick, he could have the swine flu for goodness sake. I am a horrible person!

Sorry for the rant, just had to let it out!

Nope, I win the worst wife ever award, there's a reason I'm on my 3rd husband..

As for yours, throw a slanket over him and when he starts to feel like a fool in the thing he's better.

nope its a wife thing..

he quit smoking and the withdrawls were nasty.. i had no pitty
my DH had a muscle spazam about a year ago and i had not pitty

I think its cause he was acting like he was acting and like you said I have to do stuff while sick

and they do nothing to help themselves

you have a fever...here take something for it...but no we get...nooo i dont want to

you have a headache...take something....nooo i dont want to

you have a stuffy nose and a sore throat here make a neo citron and go to bed... nooo i dont want to

suffer then...lol

No offense to any men that may read this, but men are the BIGGEST babies when they are sick!! I mean, grow up already!!

I wish I could lay around and 'be sick' when I'm not feeling well, but everyone would starve if that happened!

Mine broke his toe once. He's all hooping around going "my toe, my toe, I think I broke my toe" the kids and I all laughed and laughed. Then I looked down and saw his baby toe hanging off to the side of his foot. I throw him in the van and take him to the hospital. I'm trying to be all supportive and not make fun of him. Then they come in with this giant needle to numb the toe and set it. I had to walk out of the room! He's a Marine. He can suck it up and deal with it on his own! LOL.

Bwhahahaha you should talk to my husband, he thinks I'm soooo mean to him! I just cannot stand the constant whining and complaining and "oh poor me's"... One time we had gone fishing and I got horribly burned had a fever and sun poisoning and this is after I put sunblock on, anywhoo hubby got burned on his shoulders and expected to have me rub him down with aloe and put cold wash rags on him. GRRR it annoys the crud right outta' me!!! Another time he got sick, we think it was swine flu but we never had it diagnosed because it wasn’t a big deal at the time and he had a fever of 101.3 and expected me to put cold packs under his back and flip his flippin wash cloth on his forehead every 10mins!!! OH MY GOSH, he is such a whimp! You know what he did when I was in LABOR,

went to Subway and then got a haircut, you never heard a peep outta me, I knew he needed a haircut, and I sat there contracting in labor for 20mins while he had his hair cut... Men...

I got my tubes tied. He brought me home from the hospital, put me on the couch, and went back to work! Leaving me with 2 little boys to take care of. What the heck?

You are hearby excused from ever giving him a drop of medical sympathy again. If he complains have him call Miss Saddi....

~Saddi who last week had her mechanic in tears...

Don't feel bad, it's the same here. DH gets sick, goes straight to bed. I check on him every 6 hours or so, and as long as he's breathing I figure it's all good.

I get sick and people still want to eat, do homework, ask where things are, dogs still want to eat, clothes still have to be washed... the nerve! I know it's bad, but I have trouble working up a lot of sympathy too.
