I think my chicken is dead

Yes maybe, just maybe, and this is another way of looking at it, some parents grow tired of reminding their children about the subtle responsibilities that can have consequences if not taken care of.
They don’t remind me bc well I wanted them and it’s not like I’m not old Enough to be responsible for them but Ima be honest I’ve been lacking as a good owner to them so I mean at least I paid for it

I have lost many to predators but ever since a swift fox came along last year we decided too take down the pallet coop we had for them and decided to lock them up every single night in the smaller coop that we got from a friend who didn't want their four hens anymore. And ever since then we have not lost any chickens to predators. There is times where I don't want to go out and close the door, but I don't let that stop me from closing it. It is the daily routine now, I don't think I have forgotten to close it not even once.
Really sorry about your loss it should not have happened, I hate that feeling waking up to a dead bird(s is horrible. It has happened to many times to me. Hope, everything goes well for you and your chicken(s from here on out.

Actually, I think your chicken paid for it. :hmm
So sorry for your loss. I hope things work out for you and your remaining girl. :hugs
In future, it's really beneficial to have proper predator-proof coops. Cuts loss down to a minimum.
Good luck on future chicken endeavors! ☺️
