My parents are gonna tell me that she’ll be fine or they’ll make me give her up. She was crying that’s how I found out that the other is missing. If I can’t find her by tonight then Im saying shes dead

It's disappointing that your parents seem to be failing you in your chicken keeping endeavor.. I assume your lesson has been learned and you can make a solid plan to prevent losses in the future and then follow said plan. Point them here. Just because one was lost does not mean the other will be fine (she won't) or that you have to give up. Good luck.

How are the parents failing? I see it was said that they probably wouldn't support getting another but maybe there's a reason for that.
Rehoming might be the wiser choice in their shoes.

Happened to me with my duck, she disappeared because the door was open, and it was the one and only time I was careless enough to not close it. she was gone the next day without a trace.

no they just don’t want any more pets, and like they don’t believe in some things that are true for chickens, example getting another chicken bc one died. Their reasoning for not wanting another one is bc they don’t really want any. My dad might want one tho

Parents have the ability to foster or squash ambitions. Saying the one lone chicken will be fine or to just rehome it is failing.

Rehoming may be the wiser choice, but with only two chickens it seems the opportunity was never really given.

We don't really know the situation.
Limiting pets isn't necessarily failing.
Rehoming pets that aren't being cared for isn't failing.
Sounds like parents aren't on the chicken bandwagon. Maybe saying no to another one is their push to rehome and get out of the chicken business.
Maybe they have good reason. I'm all about people having chickens but I'm not about saying parents are failing for their choices in a situation that we really have limited knowledge about.
Maybe the fact that the coop door is left open nightly plays into it.

Yes maybe, just maybe, and this is another way of looking at it, some parents grow tired of reminding their children about the subtle responsibilities that can have consequences if not taken care of.
