I thought this was a Pekin but could be a white mallard?

Aren't they sweet I love the faces of Pekins they always look like they are smiling.
LOL well this one was sweet, we used to call her Pikachu, but she became Sheila later. She is really sassy, as my daughter calls her, and doesn't mind a fight. But, yes I love her character.
 
The colour of eggs she lays are decided by her own genetics and not from any of the drakes who are potentially fertilizing her. Egg colours are related to the phenotype of birds (generally speaking). I think this is what you are asking?

Is there any way to encourage the egg shell color? I have a Cayuga and I would love to have a black egg but she lays white- at first they were greenish but they weren’t very pretty (I want to drain one and keep it).
