i want a duck, just don't know what kind ,lil help.

1st my lil oeg just went broody cani put a duck egg there,i mean,would they hurt her, and what kind of duck would you recomend,if u havea pic please post it that way i know what it looks like. Here is the would be mamy, been there all day.

Well, I imagine you could put a couple (maybe 2 or possibly 3) duck eggs under her. What kind would depend on what you want in a duck. Are you looking just for eggs, meat, or plain old cuteness?

She can incubate a duck egg, as long as she is big enough to sit on it. I've never kept ducks, so can't advise you on type...maybe you'd get better luck if you asked in the duck section?

All i know about are pekins/rouens/and mallards i know a chucken can brood mallards for sure.

The Pekins are the solid white. They are a large heavy breed of duck that does not fly and is a good meat bird I hear. You can but any kind of duck egg you want under her. We just need to know what you want from the duck, then we can narrow it down.

Pet or show quality?
Prefered colors?
Heavy breed, standard breed, or bantam?
Eggs, Meat, Pet?
Broody abilities?
Egg laying abilities?
Do you want a quiet duck or a loud duck?
