I want a stand mixer... Advice and recommendations?

I have the basic white, no frills Kitchenaid. I've been abusing it for about 15 years now, and I love it. I have a batch of molasses cookie dough in it right now!
The 4 quart bowl one is the tilt up motor. The 5 quart is the crank, unless they've changed it recently.

Mines a Kitchenaide and I love it. It's been used and used and still runs well.

I bake more now and cook since I got my Kitchenaid. It's not a fancy one. I will never have anything else. I have even got the kitchenaid cookware and even it's great. Great brand!

Trust me I cook and bake everyday and this thing will hold up to anything. I even mix my meatloaf in it!

I LOVE my kitchen aid....but I'm not sure bigger is better, because the biggest one doesn't have the tilt-head and I really like the tilt head on mine. Happy early b-day!

I bought myself a KitchenAid for my birthday this year. I LOVE it. After consulting with my cousin, who is a chef, he recommended that if I intend to do a lot of bread making with this mixer to definately go with the pro series. They got an artisan for their wedding, and within a week of heavy duty bread making they could hear the engine begin to strain. So, they upgraded by sending theirs to KitchenAid and paying the difference. I decided to buy the Pro600 model, it's the biggest and the baddest

. It was on sale at the time through amazon. Yesterday I made a triple batch of cookies, a 2 loaf amount of whole wheat bread dough, and a big batch of pretzels with it. The engine didn't even get hot. I am glad I went with the size I did with the kind of baking I do, I make all of our baked goods (including bread) and pasta from scratch. We have brownies in the oven now, only took me 5 minutes to mix up and clean up after. YUM!
