I want a stand mixer... Advice and recommendations?

Hi,

I agree with everyone else. KitchenAid is the way to go! I have had mine for 20 years without even one minor problem. It stands up to the heaviest batters without "blinking an eye". NEVER any smoke or burning smell that I used to get with my lighter duty mixers.

If it ever gives up, I will definately replace it with another one. My old mixers cost me a little less than $100.00 but they didn't even last a year, so the KitchenAid is really much less expensive in the long run.

There may be something else out there that is good also, but I'm not willing to take the chance, as I am extremely satisified with my trusty, old reliable KitchenAid. And I use it A LOT, especially with having so many fresh eggs for baking!

Good luck! Genie

P.S. I have the one with the crank-up bowl instead of the motor that tilts and I have become very used to it and I would buy the same style again.

Anyone that gets fresh eggs from their chickens is likely to have quite a few extra, which results in looking for new ways to use them. This usually includes a lot of baking and this is why a good quality mixer is so important.

KitchenAid all the way! Loved mine and had it for ten years and it was a tilt up motor.

Buy all the accessories to go with it, its fun to play with it!

I have nothing new to say, kitchenaid is the only way to go

This is the cooking area of BYC. You can post about anything cooking here, more or less. The recipes don't have to involve chicken or eggs.

I'm looking for advice about cooking equipment so I can make some of the awesome foods I keep drooling over in this area (Gump bread anyone? cookies?

), and this is where BYC's best chefs spend their time.

Looks like everybody loves their kitchen aides, well I also agree. I love ours I got it for my DW a few yrs ago, it is a bigger one with a few attachments. I cannot say enough about this mixer it's a winner.

Kitchen Aid Kohls is the best place to go. Take some old person with you and buy it on a Wednesday. SENIOR discount. At least we're good for somethings
