Yup. You've all decided for me!

I trust the voices of experience!

Now I have to decide whether I want the Artisan one or one that is bigger than that.

They have professional ones and reg ones and I have a reg one and I have pushed it to the limits and it does great. I want to get a new bowl just to have another. The dough mixer is great too. You can get pasta makers and all kinds of attachments for them.

I have had a Classic for 20 years. I believe the Artisan replaced it. We use it alot from bread making to heavy thick cookie doughs and have never encountered the need for anything larger. Kohl's have the Artisan on sale for $299 and as I stated before take an old person with you. Their 15% senior discount includes sale items.

8 loaves Wow how big is it, or does it just have more power and a bigger mixing bowl??.

Is this the semi floor model?
The one you can either set on a counter or set up on the floor?
I would kill for one of those, not big and bulky like the pro floor models but just the right size for a counter top.
We had one when I worked at Dunkin donuts that could go either place and I fell in love with it.

It is a table top model. I looked into the Hobart N-50 or something, but couldn't pass up the Kitchen Aid at Bed Bath and Beyond.

It was $399 and I had the 20% off coupon. Then I had $240 in gift cards and I will get a $40 gift card as a rebate.

So my out of pocket will end up being $39.20.

Dang, I wish I could have been that lucky! I saved up money from Christmas and anniversary and bought mine the end of January. I got the Black Artisan and I love mine! I keep trying to find things to make just to use it! Amazon has them a bit cheaper for the Onyx Black and White ones. At least they did when I bought mine. The prices change every day it seems. Good luck with whatever you get!

thats an awesome deal.
3 years ago the fireman killed my Kitchenaid. poor thing couldnt hold up under all that water, then of course freezing as they wouldnt let us back in till the structure was deemed safe.
I have wandered around since lost with out it. the kids keep asking for cookies and such but with out the Kitchen Aid it isnt worth the bother, plus my shoulder wouldn't hold up under the batter.
They love those neman markus cookies, talk about a stiff batter ouch!

My dad bought the bigger Kitchenaid model when I was about 16. I think he or my mom pull it out about twice each year. It kills me to know that it's just sitting on a shelf in their pantry when I'm kneading bread and making stuff!
