hey may....you are close enough to come and join our small and humble thread. The Halloween lockdown, or hatch, which ever is happening..close dates there abouts. It would be fun to see some new babies before ours hatch. I think there is someone else that is supposed to hatch right on Halloween... come along!

Glad your hatch went well, but more importantly.. I hope you are feeling MUCH better soon! That was a serious surgery you just went through! You poor thing!

Thank you QuackerJack, it really was a hard one, harder than I thought it would be. I will be a week out tomorrow. I wake up with a lot of pain after just laying there all night. Then it gets better as I move around, then I get too tired to move around, so, I come on here to see what's up.

My DH has been wonderful. Helping with everything. Just a little on the depressing side. At least I can go out and collect my girls eggs now. And lean down to talk to my new babies and watch to see which ones I want to keep. I already know! I am so hoping with this next hatch, that I get some lavendars in the cochin bantams. My grand kids love the little ones. I do too..cochins bantams being my fav. bantam. Guess I'll go to the other thread and see if anyone else has posted..like you!

their is nothing at all wrong with you i hatched a silkie 3 weeks ago have eggs due in 2 to 3 day and the only thing stoping me from finding more is the fact that i am supposed to hatch in 17 LOL!!!

hatch them and sell the chicks.... your selling point is the most people do buy chicks in the springtime, and then wait till august to have fresh laid eggs. If you buy chicks NOW you will have fresh eggs when others are just getting their chickies...... hatch as many as you can!!!

I just sold my incubator for fear that I would be tempted to hatch more chicks! We hatched 15 back in April & ended up with 9 roosters! We hatched them for pets and loved every one of them but 7 roos had to go. It was INCREDIBLY hard to find a good home where they wouldn't end up in a soup pot and it was VERY sad to see them go for me and the kids. We were very lucky and our boys are now free ranging with 250 hens!

I almost did today. Oh my goodness it was so hard not too. Actually, I could go back and put a bid in. Oh man, my husband would kill me! Kill! (Not because he doesn't like them, but because of space.)
