I want to make this for hawk cover..can anyone identify the type of poles they are using?

The trick with a 16' cattle panel is having room to drag one end over the base frame and anchor it temporarily with plumbers strap so it can still move SOME but not much in the strap. You then grab the other end and "walk" it into place. As you walk it will bend. Once you are over the second side of the base lower it inside. Tension from the arc will hold it BUT watch for spring out. If it slips up it will spring loose releasing that tension.

I think closer to 5+ ft. think of a circle with circumferance of 32 ft, divided by pi (3.14...) Depending on your height, that might not matter though:)
Could be. My husband built me a greenhouse with the panels and plastic several years ago at our place before this property. I could easily walk into it and I'm about 5'8". Plan to build several over the next few months as hoop houses for the chickens and turkeys and maybe a new greenhouse.

could you put the polycarbonate panels or metal roof panels on that, instead of the plastic? similar to the OP's concept, using the cattle panels instead of the metal conduit/tubing?

I think so. Not sure what you would use to fasten it, but I'm sure there would be some way.

@21hens-incharge that's exactly how we did it. 👍

I am glad I read about hoop runs here on BYC before we needed one. I didn't trust side 1 to stay put so I anchored it with pieces of plumbers strap while I worked on side 2. I am just 5'4" but my hubs is 6'2" and can walk into it without a head knock or ducking. Ours is 8' wide and 2 panels made it an 8x8 run.
