hey everyone

my hen is a silkie sussex cross and i was wondering what the correct name was?

her mom was a light sussex and her dad was a buff silike
she has the body of a sussex but she is black with buff colouring around her neck and she has a tuft of hair instead of a comb and she doesnt have any wattles

thanks

A mutt.

Really, if one thing is crossed to another, there's no name besides a A x B, or "mutt," or "crossbred," etc

- Sex Links and Easter Eggers have such names because they're well known crossings with certain parents.

On a british site about chickens. There was a discussion about the silkie/sussex cross. It is a sex link and they had a name for them, I think they call them golden tops or something similiar, not sure about the name. I will see if can find that.

hmmm...broody as a silkie but big as a light sussex.oh wait, are these only bantam or do they make a large fowl version?i don't have silkies, could they breed a large sussex because the few sussex i have seen were huge.
