Hi,
sounds like your birdie has had a wonderful life with you. My MIL has a cocketeil with the same coloring and has had her for about 20 years, maybe more. She has done the Stevie Wonder head swivel for quite a few years now. She started after she flew off her cage one day and hit the window. The flight was unexpected because she pretty much stuck to her cage. The vet said it was nerve damage and as long as she was eating and grooming, etc, to give her a chance. Well that was years ago. But I think my MIL made the right decision. Cleo is such a sweet bird. You are wonderful to give him the chance and to also let him go when the time comes!
