I'll be carpooling with a bunch of chickens! We traded off our van and got a new chevy crossover, (to my dismay), so now it looks like everyone is gonna have a bird on their lap going to the fair! It'll look like the Beverly Hillbillies!
Trish... are you going to the State fair this year?

I'd love to go, but I'm so swamped lately. I'm going to try. I'll look for you if I go.

I was planning to go to the Benton county fair, but ended up on an emergency vet run instead. Mini mare tore an eyelid! It was nasty, but I think it'll be OK. The new vet at Abrahams does excellent plastic surgery. Took my extra roos to Sumner for butchering on Monday. I thought it would save me time not to do it myself, but I guess it really only saved me the mess. I ended up with 17 pullets out of the batch I got from Trish and I'm now getting one or 2 tiny brown eggs a day. I can't tell who they are from, but I think the Cochins? These are the roos I kept.

And this one I wasn't sure about but I think it must be a roo. He doesn't crow or hastle the pullets, but I see some irridescent green tail feathers starting. Maybe with the other roos gone he'll step up.

Next week is our local county fair. I'll probably go there at least one day to look at all the critters. karimw I think you are correct on that bottom one being a roo also. A few of my pullets have just started to lay. Well, I better get back to work. I am uploading new images to my stores today. See ya all later!

So that's where all my pullets went...

I have some twins to your roos.

These two are from the same hatch, I am hoping that since the one isn't bleeding red through the shoulders that it is a pullet...

I got my 12 cornish chicks today, only they are not cornish . They are cornish cross. HHmm Oak hill can not get cornish now. They used to get them. But not now. So I am still looking for a good roo ????????? Lisa
