Thank you. That really helps me.
I'm not a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants sort....my husband is, but I'm not!
I am going to mull it over and when is the date you need to know by?
If I get any, it will only be maybe 4 or 6, just to give you an idea.
I would be able to put them in my basement at first, we have a galvanized horse trough set-up down there from last time, so that's not a problem. The problem is when they get too big for that and need to be moved outdoors. My current flock are all brown egg layers and actually, I believe they're called "Black Stars". Could be wrong on that. They would be about 9 months old by that time. So, I just need to have a plan ahead of time of how to handle that issue.
I will get back to you. Thank you!
9 months old by then isn't too bad. It is better to place the order as soon as possible to avoid somone else coming in, swooping down, and snatching them up so that all they have left is straight run. We all want to be assured of pullets. It has happened to me more times than you could imagine. Kinda like bidding in the last 20 seconds on
Ebay! You could have a delay and not get it done! The sooner the better.
