Oh no! So sorry for your loss

It's too bad the wild critters love our chickens as much as we do.

That is too bad. Of course they like the poultry for a different reason sometimes.... Did the coyote do any damage or break in? Do you think you have a pack of those nasty things in the land around you?

Thanks guys. No damage to the coop, and lots of tracks in the snow. We hear the coyotes at night- we have 11 acres and we're in the middle of nowhere, but this is the first time I've seen proof of them on our land. I hope they don't come back.

Cute puppy pictures!!

I am so jealous of the FL Keys trip! Sounds so nice about now! Have a great time!

:\\ I'll have to ask my grandma if she has any tracking number or something. It was sent.

You may have to go back to the store where she sent it and look in their log book. All items sent UPS automatically have a tracking number attached. if you can provide me with the name of the place it was sent from, I will handle it.

Im pretty sure she sent it at the post office, but there is no way I can get a number there since I'm in PA now. I still have to get an answer back from her..I sent an FB message but she may not have gotten it since she doesn't know how to use it that well

I forgot to write that the buttercups finally gave us an egg!!!!!!!!! Now we just hope we can get enough eggs by the end of the week to try and hatch lol

Also, we found 1 bird to have mites or something, its one of Jerrits moms brahmas...only 1 and it has been seperated and all the birds are going to get treated with DE soon.

Hi all, haven't been on here in a while.

Kidding season is in full swing. Wow, almost 300 kids born so far. You all wanted some pix, so here they are!

A little, black Alpine doeling.

Yay Trish popped in to say hi! We've missed you! That sure is a lot of goats. I can't wait until I have one.

Well the little pup didn't make it. We took everyone to the vet yesterday and they told us to hand feed her (which we had already started) but she was just too small. Everyone else is happy and healthy.

Eric - I'm not talking to you - I need to go somewhere warm and I'm jealous!

Thanks for the pictures Trish!

Here is a pic of the Buttercups checking out the nest boxes lol thats also the day they layed us an egg...maybe we need to let them back in there so we get more eggs lol.

And here is Brooster trying to join his girls

I have a question about Brooster's comb. I saw on some site saying it should be cupped up like the females, but Broosters is flat compared to the photos they showed. Is that just because he's older? Or is how his comb is fine?
Ok I read more, so only a few chicks from them will get a good closed comb? Not all will get the nice closed comb right?

Cute goat pictures! May I ask what you do with 300 baby goats?
big_smile.png

Tiramisu- awesome Buttercups chickens! I hadn't heard of the breed until recently and now I want some!

A lot of the goat kids are sold, bucklings usually for slaughter. Doelings are either sold or raised up and bred to milk at a year old.

Broosters comb is as it will be not perfect but he steals the show from the girls with the judges! I miss his comb.

Can I trade you something to bring them home? We'll discuss it after FL.
